I made a video blog about the importance of Harassment Policies at Conventions and talked about how poorly Aki-con behaved in relation to the incident from last year.
ANN has posted an article on the incident from this year here: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-01-08/convicted-sex-offender-attends-aki-con-2013-event-as-guest-dj
I’m currently working on a post refuting some of their “statement” to ANN right now, but people who have better info than me might want to jump in as well.
Akicon is different in that they don’t have any “chairs” and as a result have a very loose and messy structure. However, the Akicon programs and websites in the past have cited Nicole and Danielle Pelham as the show runners.
Addicting Info now has an article up. Beware the comments: http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/12/07/aki-con-cosplayer-assaulted/
It looks like they finally did file to be a non-profit. It was only 4 months ago, so every previous year they were in fact a for-profit convention.
They are listed in on http://www.sos.wa.gov/corps/search_detail.aspx?ubi=603329825
And I’ll just leave this here: http://i.imgur.com/E2G1ZJO.jpg
Reddit discussion about the recent rape allegations + other AkiCon dickbaggery, in case you want to jump in.

The answer was on a 4chan thread (On another note, what kind of con does official feedback on a 4chan thread?) that 404’d since things don’t last too often around there.
